Interestingly it’s a true story to read...; for your cross-border projects... Given the nature of a stubborn deadline for events, tell us how you would have solved this.

This is indeed a crisis! And the worst part of it is that this particular truck queues are not expected to end soon. It is seen that the talks over this condition is not something recent, but prevalent in news for quite a long time and there has been no concrete action taken in order to solve this issue. Taking the stock of the many problems related to specifications, documentation, conditions of freights, packaging, and inspection procedures happening at the check point and if it is not going to ease soon, then the time-sensitive businesses are really going to have a daunting run to fulfil their projects. According to reports, the truckers should wait for up to five or six days at the land border, awaiting clearance for their cargo and these stranded drivers say nearly 6,000 trucks were stuck at the border due to slow clearance.

Exhibitors around the globe often suffer from shipment reaching fairground delayed that creates havoc when executing cross-boarder projects. The fact that even a judicious time-plan fails in such situations in Saudi boarder as transporters won't wait for long days if they reach the venue with shipment early, nor the exhibition center opens for them before 72 hours (usually) for installation. The sensible solution then to deal with this situation is to avoid cross-boarder shipment as far as possible. Air cargo is a method which can be thought about but can cost exorbitant. Saudi Arabia being an important exhibition market in its region, exhibitors find their fortunes in this oil-rich Kingdom which is the largest consumer market too in the GCC region. Even with numerous disgusting stories of delayed road and sea shipments to Saudi, for most businesses it’s harsh to ignore an exhibition opportunity in this recession-resistant country. So the prudence is in finding the right contractor solution within the country rather than trying the risk of shipping the stand or resorting to the expensive air cargo mode.
